DESTURI SAFARI (2018)
This brief was set by design agency One Space Media, giving us the opportunity to work on a 'live' project. Desturi Safari is a niche tour operator providing bespoke safari holidays in Africa, the task was too create a brand identity that reflected the company's beliefs and values. The name Desturi Safari translates from the Swahili word 'custom journey', they believe that customers should come back enlightened about the culture, wildlife and the beautiful landscape.
The identity I wanted to create for the brand, was something strong and sophisticated as the company operates at the higher end of the market. I developed a symbol, inspired by African culture and the shape of a lions eye, to use with the company name. This could then be used in a repeat pattern throughout the branding. I wanted the brand to be minimal, refined and impactful, giving the customers a sense of the companies expertise in the market. The process shows how I took the basic shape of a lions eye and turned into a strong, minimal, geometric symbol for the brands identity.
